“Older women likewise are . . . to teach what is good, and so train the young women” (Titus 2:3–4)
Intergenerational is a word here that means a way of disciplemaking within the local church. It is a status that all churches shouls aspire to model.
I see it, not in the "pizza, games, and fun" promised in youth group, but in the moms and dads that volunteer by coming alongside the Jr/Sr High students in order to do life with them.
I see it in children's church where neigborhood kids wander in to to the building on Sunday mornings to hang out with the older volunteers.
My memories of discipleship, as I was growing in the faith during my youth, involved small Sunday School classes poring over text and question in "quarterlies." Going to a youth group leader's home or apartment to spend time studying God's Word. It was intergenerational - it is God's design!
