I have to admit that I like old detective TV shows. My favorite (at this time) is Columbo. In that series, Peter Falk plays a dissheveled detective that proves an "everyman" can solve crime, while riding in a beat up car, appearing like a penniless bum, and always forgetting to ask the right question until the very last second.
In this article (access it by clicking --> here <--) author Bernard Howard uses historical evidence to determine, as best as he can, what the actual year was when Jesus was crucified.
This may not seem like a big deal today, but wait a few years! Different people will come out of the woodwork and claim that they know the precise 2,000-year anniversary of the crucifixion. With this smooth detective work under your wing, you will have a head start on them!
I cannot say that I get 100% behind Howard's conclusion on the crucifixion year, but he makes a very convincing argument. Always know that this is an issue upon which Christians are free to disagree, while remaining in close and loving fellowship within the global and local body of Christ!
To God be the glory!
